This protocol addresses vulvar lichen sclerosus in patients who also present with extragenital lichen sclerosus — disease extending beyond the anogenital region. This combination poses a distinct clinical challenge, as the evidence base for the extragenital sites is more limited than for isolated vulvar disease.
Extragenital lichen sclerosus involves skin affected outside the genital area. There are fewer studies specifically examining treatment approaches for extragenital sites compared with purely vulvar disease, making structured guidance particularly valuable in this setting.
