Treatment of Vulvar Lichen Planus in Erosive Disease of the Vulva

Erosive lichen planus of the vulva is an aggressive mucosal form of vulvar lichen planus that carries a significant risk of irreversible anatomical change. Early, targeted treatment is essential.

Clinical scenario

Active mucosal erosions drive an ongoing risk of scarring and structural distortion. Prevention or limitation of scarring is the major therapeutic aim in this setting.

Therapeutic approach — partial overview

First-line management centres on potent topical therapy, followed by a structured maintenance phase; the complete agent selection, sequencing, and adjunctive measures are in the full protocol.
