Erosive lichen planus of the vulva is an aggressive mucosal form of vulvar lichen planus that carries a significant risk of irreversible anatomical change. Early, targeted treatment is essential.
Active mucosal erosions drive an ongoing risk of scarring and structural distortion. Prevention or limitation of scarring is the major therapeutic aim in this setting.

Our suggestion is to start with clobetasol or a calcineurin inhibitor and maintain the treatment with a less potent topical steroid, applied less frequently.
