Treatment of Viral Conjunctivitis in Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV) Conjunctivitis

This protocol addresses viral conjunctivitis arising in the context of varicella zoster virus (VZV) infection. Children with chicken pox may present with conjunctivitis that is sometimes associated with eyelid ulceration and/or limbal or conjunctival vesicles.

The management of VZV conjunctivitis involves consideration of adjunctive topical antiviral therapy — specifically for patients who do not respond to initial measures.

Full regimen details, sequencing, and clinical decision criteria are in the complete protocol.
