Treatment of p16 (HPV)-Positive Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Tonsil — Oropharynx, Early Clinical Stage

Clinical Scenario

This protocol applies to patients with squamous cell carcinoma arising in the tonsil (oropharynx) whose tumor is confirmed p16 (HPV)-positive by immunohistochemistry. HPV testing by p16 IHC is required to establish eligibility. The staging criteria covered are T1–2, N0 or T0–2, N1 (single regional node ≤ 3 cm).
