This protocol covers aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) in which the ruptured aneurysm originates from the posterior circulation and is considered amenable to endovascular coiling.
Clinical scenario
The patient presents with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. The culprit aneurysm is sited in the posterior circulation and has been assessed as suitable for endovascular coiling.

For patients with aSAH from ruptured aneurysms of the posterior circulation that are amenable to coiling, coiling is indicated in preference to clipping to improve outcome.
