Treatment of Cutaneous Sporotrichosis and Lymphocutaneous Sporotrichosis

Clinical Scenario

This protocol addresses patients presenting with cutaneous sporotrichosis or lymphocutaneous sporotrichosis — the most common superficial forms of this fungal infection. The cutaneous form is confined to the skin, while the lymphocutaneous form involves spread along lymphatic channels proximal to the primary lesion.

Treatment Approach

For patients with fixed cutaneous lesions, the protocol includes local hyperthermia as a targeted, non-systemic option — particularly relevant when systemic therapy is not suitable. This approach is applied directly to the affected skin.

Patient selection criteria, full clinical parameters, and the complete management algorithm are detailed in the structured protocol.
