This protocol applies to sialolithiasis of the sublingual gland in the specific setting of concurrent sialolithiasis of the parotid gland where the stone is located in the middle or proximal duct, or the hilar region.
Clinical scenario: The patient has sialolithiasis of the parotid gland with the stone situated in the middle or proximal duct or hilar region — an anatomical position that directly determines which interventions are appropriate and in what order.
When the stone is not directly accessible or visible, extracorporeal shock-wave lithotripsy (ESWL) — where locally available — is a key intervention considered in this setting. The complete regimen, including any supplemental steps, is provided in the full protocol.

Stones in the Middle or Proximal Duct and Hilar Region
If intSE or ISWL are not feasible (mainly because the stone is not accessible or visible), ESWL is indicated if available, and it can then again be supplemented with intSE or ISWL.
