ICD-10 M34.8 · ICD-11 EE7Y

Scleredema Associated with Multiple Myeloma, Monoclonal Gammopathy, or Amyloidosis

Clinical Scenario

Symmetrical, woody, non-pitting skin induration of the neck and upper trunk — with the fingers characteristically spared — arising in the context of an underlying haematological disease.

Associated Haematological Conditions

This form of scleredema is associated with paraproteinaemia, encompassing monoclonal gammopathy, multiple myeloma, and amyloidosis. The haematological disorder is recognised as the principal driver in this clinical setting.

Treatment Approach

Management involves a disease-modifying immunosuppressant agent, used either alone or in combination with a corticosteroid. Which agent applies, the combination conditions, and any relevant clinical exceptions are detailed in the full protocol.
