This protocol addresses serous-exudative retinal detachment occurring as a direct consequence of intraocular metastatic tumors. In this presentation, the detachment is exudative rather than rhegmatogenous — the retina separates because of fluid driven by the underlying tumor process — and management must be directed at that cause.
When intraocular metastatic tumors are the confirmed cause, the primary intervention is targeted at the tumor itself using a radiation-based modality. The complete structured regimen — including patient selection criteria, sequencing, and supporting measures — is available in the full protocol.
