Psoriasis during pregnancy presents a distinct clinical challenge. Achieving adequate disease control must be weighed carefully against the safety of any intervention for the developing fetus.
This protocol applies to pregnant patients with generalized plaque psoriasis or chronic guttate psoriasis. Pregnancy substantially narrows the range of appropriate therapies and shapes both the choice of treatment and any adjunctive measures used alongside it.
NB-UVB phototherapy — considered safe in pregnancy — is the recommended intervention, used alongside oral folate supplementation to reduce fetal risk. The complete regimen, including dosing, sequencing, and monitoring parameters, is available in the structured protocol.
