PSC with Pruritus and Dominant or Relevant Biliary Stricture

In patients with Primary sclerosing cholangitis, the new onset or worsening of pruritus (skin itching) can signal an underlying biliary complication requiring prompt evaluation and intervention.

This protocol addresses PSC patients presenting with:

New or worsening itch in a PSC patient may indicate benign or malignant biliary obstruction. A relevant biliary stricture should be ruled out before attributing pruritus to other causes.
