Treatment of Primary Cutaneous Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma Presenting with Solitary or Localised Tumours
This protocol covers the management of primary cutaneous anaplastic large cell lymphoma (PC-ALCL / C-ALCL) in patients who present with solitary or localised disease, including ulcerating tumours or nodules.
Clinical scenario: The patient has primary cutaneous ALCL presenting with solitary or localised (ulcerating) tumours or nodules — the characteristic pattern of C-ALCL at initial evaluation.
Treatment approach — partial overview
For a subset of patients in this setting, a multi-agent chemotherapy strategy is part of the treatment framework. The full structured regimen, including which patients qualify and the complete decision pathway, is available via the link below.
References
- Patients with C-ALCL generally present with solitary or localised (ulcerating) tumours or nodules and should be treated with RT or surgical excision (Figure 2).
- Multi-agent ChT is only indicated in patients presenting with or developing extracutaneous disease and in rare patients with rapidly progressive skin disease.
