The presentation is clinical stage I, where the disease is localised to the capsule, potentially accompanied by solid masses penetrating the capsule.

BIA-ALCL is an ALK- ALCL that arises in the context of macrotextured breast implants.
This can also be accompanied by one or several solid masses penetrating the capsule (clinical stage I according to the TNM staging system; as shown in Figure 7).
For stage I disease, as the malignancy is localised to the capsule, treatment usually involves draining the effusion fluid followed by full bilateral capsulectomy with implant removal.(en bloc resection)
