Pineocytoma: Treatment When Complete Surgical Removal Is Not Possible
When complete resection of a pineocytoma cannot be achieved, or when the tumor recurs, additional directed treatment is required. This protocol addresses that specific clinical situation.
Clinical Scenario
This protocol applies where total tumor removal is not possible and in patients with recurrent pineocytoma. In both settings, local treatment directed at the residual or recurrent tumor is considered as an alternative to surgery alone.
Treatment Approach
A targeted radiation-based local approach is among the options to be considered in this setting — the full protocol specifies the recommended modalities and how they are selected.
