First-Line Treatment of Histologically Confirmed Pineocytoma
Clinical Scenario
Pineocytoma (PC) is a low-grade pineal parenchymal tumor with infrequent metastatic spread. This protocol addresses first-line management in patients with histologically confirmed pineocytoma, where the primary treatment decision centres on surgical intervention.
Treatment Approach
The standard first-line care for histologically confirmed pineocytoma is surgical, targeting gross tumor removal. For this low-grade pineal lesion, surgery is generally the primary treatment modality.
The complete structured regimen — including surgical criteria, additional management considerations, and follow-up guidance — is available in the full protocol.
