Treatment of Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Nasal Cavity at Stage I or Stage II

Squamous cell carcinoma of the nasal cavity at stage I or stage II is an early-to-moderately advanced malignancy with well-defined standard treatment options. Selecting the right approach depends on tumour extent and how the disease responds to initial therapy.

This protocol applies to squamous cell carcinoma of the nasal cavity staged as stage I (small lesions) or stage II (small to moderately advanced lesions). At these stages, surgery and radiation therapy are the principal treatment options and carry equivalent cure rates.

When standard local therapy is insufficient

For disease that does not respond to radiation therapy or surgery, systemic chemotherapy using established drug combinations becomes a consideration. The complete regimen — including agent selection and sequencing — is detailed in the full protocol.
