This protocol applies to patients with mycosis fungoides (MF) presenting at clinical stage IA, IB, or IIA — collectively termed early-stage disease. The approach is shaped by evidence from comparative studies, including a meta-analysis of seven studies with 778 patients with histologically confirmed early-stage MF at these stages.
The patient has mycosis fungoides confirmed at clinical stage IA, IB, or IIA. This staging delineates the extent of skin involvement and determines eligibility for the first-line treatment pathway outlined in this protocol.
Skin-directed therapies are recommended first-line for early-stage MF. The protocol recognises several options as clinically equivalent, with the preferred choice guided by stage and individual patient circumstances. The complete set of modalities, their indications, and the evidence supporting each is available in the full protocol.
