Treatment of Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type 2B in Advanced Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma with Diarrhea

This protocol applies to patients with Multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2B who have advanced medullary thyroid carcinoma and present with diarrhea. Diarrhea occurs most frequently in patients with advanced disease and hepatic metastases.

Management in this setting involves somatostatin analogs as part of the therapeutic strategy. Local therapies may also be considered — the full sequencing, selection criteria, and regimen details are available in the complete protocol.
