This protocol addresses patients with Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type 2A who develop cutaneous metastases of medullary thyroid carcinoma involving the upper chest, neck, or scalp — a rare complication in this setting.
Cutaneous metastases are an uncommon manifestation in patients with medullary thyroid carcinoma. When skin lesions appear — particularly across the upper chest, neck, or scalp — the number and distribution of lesions directly inform the choice of local management.

Patients with MTC rarely develop cutaneous metastases.
If possible cutaneous metastases should be excised surgically.
Multiple cutaneous lesions are best treated by EBRT or ethanol injection.
