This protocol applies to patients with Multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 (MEN1) in whom a bronchopulmonary neuroendocrine tumour, previously managed with surveillance, has demonstrated growth — a change in behaviour that alters the clinical course of action.
In MEN1, bronchopulmonary neuroendocrine tumours may be followed conservatively under a surveillance programme. When such a tumour shows growth, continued observation alone is no longer the appropriate response. This finding is the key driver for escalation to active intervention.
For locoregional bronchopulmonary neuroendocrine tumours in MEN1 that show growth under surveillance, a surgical approach is recognised as the treatment of choice. The full protocol — including patient selection, the complete management algorithm, and all relevant clinical considerations — is available in the structured regimen below.

Bronchopulmonary neuroendocrine tumours under surveillance that show growth should be considered for surgery, which is the treatment of choice for locoregional disease.
