First-Line Protocol

Treatment of Localised, Grade 1 (Low-Grade) Resectable Liposarcoma of an Extremity or Superficial Trunk

This protocol covers management of patients whose liposarcoma is localised, clinically resectable, and confirmed as low-grade (grade 1) histology at a site on an extremity or the superficial trunk — a sub-population where resectability and low-grade biology are the defining factors guiding care.

Clinical Scenario

The protocol applies when all of the following are present:

This constellation determines surgical candidacy and informs decisions on perioperative treatment.

Treatment Approach

Surgical resection is central to management in this setting. For local relapse, the approach closely mirrors primary disease management — with re-excision as the mainstay — and perioperative radiotherapy and/or systemic therapy may be incorporated where not previously used. The full evidence-based selection criteria, sequencing, and decision algorithm are available in the complete protocol.

Full regimen details, indications, and treatment sequence require access to the structured protocol below.
