Treatment of Genital Lichen Sclerosus in Adult Males (Age 18+)
This first-line protocol applies to men aged 18 years and older presenting with genital lichen sclerosus (penile LS) — a chronic inflammatory dermatosis of the male genitalia that can progress to phimosis and significant symptomatic burden.
Clinical scenario
Adult males (18 years or older) with confirmed genital lichen sclerosus. The protocol addresses the signs, symptoms, and functional manifestations of penile LS, including assessment of phimosis severity.
First-line approach
Management is centred on ultrapotent or potent topical corticosteroids alongside supportive topical care. The complete regimen — agent selection, application schedule, frequency adjustment, and monitoring — is detailed in the full structured protocol.
Treatment goals
Improvement in the clinical grade of phimosis and clearing of penile lichen sclerosus signs and symptoms.
