Treatment of Leukemia Cutis in Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Clinical Scenario

This protocol addresses leukemia cutis arising in the context of acute myeloid leukemia — a presentation in which leukemic cells infiltrate the skin concurrent with, or as a manifestation of, underlying AML.

Underlying Condition

Acute myeloid leukemia is the second most common leukemia in adults. In this setting, management of the underlying AML drives the treatment approach for leukemia cutis — cutaneous involvement does not alter the primary systemic strategy.

Treatment Approach (Partial Summary)

Systemic induction chemotherapy is the cornerstone of management, with the choice of regimen shaped by patient fitness and molecular tumour profile — including whether additional targeted therapy is appropriate. Dosing, full eligibility criteria, and the complete algorithm are available in the structured protocol.
