Juvenile polyposis syndrome (JPS) is characterised by multiple colorectal juvenile polyps that carry a risk of significant complications, including rectal bleeding and anaemia. Management focuses on systematic endoscopic surveillance and polyp removal to prevent these outcomes.
The primary intervention is endoscopic colonoscopic polypectomy. Retrieved polyps are submitted for histological assessment. The complete protocol — including the criteria for which polyps are prioritised, the surveillance schedule, and how endpoints are confirmed — is set out in the structured regimen.
