Proximal Hypospadias with Chordee: When Initial Repair Fails to Meet Its Goals

This protocol applies to patients with proximal division of the corpus spongiosum below the midshaft, penile ventral curvature (chordee), and poor development of the ventral penile radius — in whom the initial surgical repair has not achieved the required clinical outcomes.

Previous Treatment & Failure Condition

The preceding line of care — chordee correction with urethroplasty — did not achieve its required goals:

This protocol defines the structured step taken after that failure.

Treatment Approach (partial overview)

Redo surgery is undertaken at least 6 months after the initial procedure to allow adequate tissue recovery. The full structured protocol specifies the surgical approach according to the type of complication present — multiple distinct situations are addressed, each with its own intervention pathway.
