Treatment of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy with Left Ventricular Apical Aneurysm and Thrombus Within the Aneurysm

This protocol addresses a specific and clinically important presentation of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy: the presence of a left ventricular apical aneurysm with thrombus identified within it.

Clinical scenario Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy with a left ventricular apical aneurysm; thrombus is present within the aneurysm. This combination calls for a targeted therapeutic strategy distinct from routine HCM management.
Therapeutic approach (partial) When thrombus is found within a left ventricular apical aneurysm in this setting, an anticoagulation strategy is indicated — the full details of the regimen are available in the complete protocol.

Rarely, thrombi are present within the aneurysm and should be treated with long-term oral anticoagulation.
