This protocol applies to pediatric patients — those aged 18 years or younger — diagnosed with classical Hodgkin lymphoma presenting at low risk: non-bulky stage IA or IIA without constitutional symptoms and with tumour bulk below 6 centimetres.
The patient is a child or adolescent (18 years or younger) with classical Hodgkin lymphoma classified as low-risk, non-bulky stage IA or IIA. Defining features include the absence of fever, night sweats, and unexplained weight loss, with bulk measuring less than 6 centimetres.
Management in this setting starts with a first-line pediatric chemotherapy regimen. Depending on the protocol used, chemotherapy may be followed by radiation therapy.
A primary measure of success is achieving a rapid early response to initial treatment — this response informs what comes next in the patient's management.
