नैदानिक परिदृश्य
यह प्रोटोकॉल उन रोगियों पर लागू होता है जिन्हें जननांग हर्पीस का प्रथम प्रकरण है और जो प्रकरण शुरू होने के 5 दिनों के भीतर, या जब नए घाव अभी भी बन रहे हों, प्रस्तुत होते हैं — और जो न गर्भवती हैं और न ही HIV के साथ जी रहे हैं।
उपचार दृष्टिकोण
इस प्रस्तुति के प्रबंधन में मौखिक एंटीवायरल दवाएं मुख्य आधार हैं, जिन्हें उचित रोगसूचक उपायों द्वारा समर्थित किया जाता है। संपूर्ण रेजिमेन — जिसमें दवा के विकल्प, खुराक और अवधि शामिल हैं — पूर्ण प्रोटोकॉल में निर्धारित है।

- प्रारंभिक समीक्षा पर कोई और जननांग घाव विकसित न हो
- प्रणालीगत लक्षणों का समाधान
- बीमारी की कोई जटिलता न हो

- Patients presenting within 5 days of the start of the episode, or while new lesions are still forming, should be given oral antiviral drugs.
- Bathing with normal saline and the use of appropriate analgesia are recommended.
- If a decision to provide 5 days of therapy is made, the patient should have early review to ensure they have no further lesion development, systemic symptoms or disease complications — they all will require extended therapy.
