Le sarcome de Kaposi lié au SIDA se développe dans le contexte d'une immunodéficience induite par le VIH. L'objectif thérapeutique principal est de restaurer la fonction immunitaire en obtenant une suppression durable de la charge virale du VIH, ce qui permet à la plupart des lésions de SK de se stabiliser ou de régresser.

La prise en charge repose sur la thérapie antirétrovirale comme intervention fondamentale ; pour les lésions individuelles symptomatiques ou fonctionnellement invalidantes, un traitement local peut être envisagé en complément des soins systémiques.
