Treatment of Gram-Negative (Pseudomonal) Folliculitis of the Trunk Following Contaminated Water Exposure
This protocol addresses folliculitis caused by gram-negative organisms — specifically pseudomonal infection — presenting on the trunk after exposure to contaminated water.
Pseudomonal folliculitis involves the exposed aspects of the trunk and follows an exposure to contaminated water. Identifying and eliminating the source of contamination is a central part of management.

Dilute acid acetic baths. Ciprofloxacin. Usually resolves spontaneously. Gram negative folliculitis needs to be identified and eliminated from the source of the infection.
