Acne keloidalis nuchae — also known as keloidal folliculitis — is a persistent follicular disorder affecting the back of the neck and occipital scalp. Effectively managing the folliculitis in this presentation requires a sustained, targeted strategy.
Clinical scenario: Folliculitis occurring as acne keloidalis nuchae (keloidal folliculitis) localised to the back of the neck and occipital scalp.
Some authors recommend a combination of a potent topical corticosteroid with prolonged use of an oral antibacterial, such as tetracycline (table III).
