Renal or Visceral Artery Aneurysm in Fibromuscular Dysplasia: When Is Intervention Indicated?

Clinical Scenario

This protocol addresses fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD) complicated by a renal or visceral artery aneurysm with a diameter exceeding 2 cm — or less than 2 cm in women of childbearing age. Aneurysms may be asymptomatic or may present with distal embolization of thrombotic content or rupture, making timely assessment essential.

Aneurysms may be asymptomatic or present with distal embolization of thrombotic content or rupture.
