This protocol applies to patients presenting with primary cervical dystonia — involuntary, sustained or repetitive muscle contractions affecting the neck, producing abnormal head postures or movements without an identified secondary cause.
The evidence-based first-line approach for primary cervical dystonia involves a focal injection-based intervention. The complete regimen — including selection between therapeutic options when primary treatment resistance is encountered — is detailed in the full protocol.
