First-Line Treatment of Dyshidrotic Eczema in Mild Hand Eczema
This protocol covers the first-line management of dyshidrotic eczema presenting as mild hand eczema. Treatment integrates topical therapy with consistent, ongoing basic skin care.

- Topical glucocorticoids (preferably class II, short-term or interval therapy)
- Topical calcineurin inhibitors (tacrolimus)
- Tap water iontophoresis
- Antipruritic and antiseptic agents
- Tannins
- Topical glucocorticoids shall be used as short-term first-line therapy for the treatment of HE.
- Tacrolimus 0.1 % ointment improves symptom control compared to vehicle after three weeks (14/14 tacrolimus versus 0/14 vehicle).
