Approximately a third of patients present with limited-stage diffuse large B-cell lymphoma — stage I or II disease without substantial disease bulk (tumour mass less than 10 cm). Among these, patients with a low-risk International Prognostic Index score (IPI 0–1) represent a subgroup for whom a response-adapted, potentially shorter course of treatment is appropriate.
In this limited-stage, low-risk setting, management centres on an immunochemotherapy-based regimen whose total duration is determined by interim PET scan response. The interim PET scan result is the pivotal decision point that shapes the scope of therapy. The complete regimen, response-based decision criteria, and any additional treatment considerations are detailed in the full protocol.
Achieving a negative interim PET scan is the key treatment milestone — it directly informs whether a shorter course of therapy is sufficient in this patient population.
