Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) is a complex neurodegenerative condition requiring a carefully structured, individualized management plan. Evidence supports combining pharmacologic treatment with targeted nonpharmacologic interventions to address both cognitive and neuropsychiatric symptoms.
First-line management of DLB involves pharmacologic treatment alongside nonpharmacologic strategies. Among the nonpharmacologic options, exercise has shown benefit for both motor and cognitive function — and additional structured interventions play a role in managing psychiatric symptoms such as agitation and psychosis.
The complete regimen, including pharmacologic agent selection and the full intervention sequence, is available in the structured protocol below.DOI: 10.1212/WNL.0000000000004058
