This protocol applies to individuals with cystic fibrosis — including those with CRMS/CFSPID — who present with an unexplained prolonged cough lasting more than 2 weeks and in whom no readily identifiable cause has been found.
Evidence-based guidance supports considering antibiotic therapy in selected patients presenting with this scenario.
