Treatment of Cosmetically Important, Localized Specific Granulomatous Cutaneous Sarcoidosis Lesions

When cutaneous sarcoidosis presents as specific (granulomatous) lesions that are few in number, localized, and cosmetically significant, the clinical approach can be targeted and stratified by lesion burden and severity.

Clinical scenario: Patients with a small number of localized, specific granulomatous cutaneous sarcoidosis lesions — particularly those in cosmetically important sites — may respond to localized management strategies. Lesion number and distribution are key factors in determining the appropriate level of intervention.

Treatment approach (partial): For cases that do not respond to localized measures and progress to greater severity, systemic anti-TNF therapy represents a recognized option. The specific agents, dosing schedules, and sequencing criteria are detailed in the full protocol.
