This protocol addresses cutaneous leishmaniasis specifically caused by Leishmania mexicana. The causative species shapes the approach, and not all presentations require the same management strategy.
Complete reepithelialization — full healing of the cutaneous lesion.
Complete lesion healingIn patients whose presentation meets specific criteria — relating to lesion count, clinical urgency, and cosmetic impact — a conservative, non-pharmacological approach may be appropriate, given the natural course of this infection.
