Treatment of Cowden Syndrome in Endometrial Cancer

Patients with Cowden syndrome (CS) who develop endometrial cancer represent a clinically distinct population. The characteristics of endometrial cancer in the setting of CS have not yet been fully established, making structured, protocol-guided management especially important.

Clinical scenario

Cowden syndrome diagnosed in a patient with concurrent or diagnosed endometrial cancer. This combination requires a tailored management approach that accounts for the underlying genetic predisposition alongside the oncological priorities of the uterine malignancy.

Treatment approach — partial overview

The foundational intervention is surgical, involving resection of the uterus and bilateral adnexa, with lymph node assessment performed as clinically indicated. Depending on pathological findings and recurrence risk, additional systemic therapy may follow. Full protocol required
