Treatment of COVID-19 Pneumonia in Ambulatory Patients at High Risk for Progression to Severe Disease

This protocol addresses a clinically urgent subgroup: ambulatory patients with mild-to-moderate COVID-19 who are maintaining adequate oxygenation on room air but carry a profile placing them at high risk for deterioration to severe disease.

Clinical Scenario

The patient is ambulatory with mild-to-moderate COVID-19 — oxygen saturation above 94% on room air, without supplemental oxygen requirement. Despite preserved oxygenation at presentation, a high-risk profile for progression to severe disease makes early intervention the clinical priority.

Treatment Approach

Evidence-based management centres on initiating early antiviral or neutralizing-antibody therapy after symptom onset, with the optimal agent determined by individual clinical factors.

Full selection criteria, the complete therapeutic algorithm, and regimen details are in the structured protocol.
