Treatment of pMMR/MSS Colon Cancer When Resectable and Obstructing

This protocol applies to patients with non-metastatic colon adenocarcinoma whose tumour is proficient in mismatch repair (pMMR) or microsatellite stable (MSS), and where the lesion is both surgically resectable and causing obstruction.

Proficient mismatch repair (pMMR) and microsatellite stable (MSS) status defines a distinct molecular subgroup of colon adenocarcinoma. In this presentation the tumour is non-metastatic, amenable to surgical resection, and producing obstructive symptoms — factors that together shape the perioperative treatment strategy.

Perioperative management in this setting centres on adjuvant chemotherapy administered after resection. The structured protocol identifies the preferred combination and single-agent regimens applicable to this scenario.
