Insulin therapy is recommended for patients with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus.
Considering that endocrine insufficiency in patients with CP is accompanied by deficient glucagon secretion and that hypoglycemia is likely to occur and be prolonged, insulin injections at a frequency close to that of the physiological secretion pattern of insulin are recommended.
