Treatment of Chondrosarcoma in Mesenchymal Chondrosarcoma
Mesenchymal chondrosarcoma is a rare and distinct subtype of chondrosarcoma. The management approach for this subtype is guided by its specific biological behaviour and, where present, the extent of metastatic disease.
Clinical Scenario
This protocol applies to patients with mesenchymal chondrosarcoma. Adjuvant or neoadjuvant chemotherapy may be considered as part of the overall management approach in this subtype.
Treatment Approach
Systemic therapy supported by preliminary clinical evidence is part of the regimen for mesenchymal chondrosarcoma. For patients with limited pulmonary metastatic spread, a local intervention strategy may also be applicable. Full regimen details and the complete clinical algorithm are available in the structured protocol.

Preliminary data supports the use of trabectedin in mesenchymal chondrosarcoma.
Surgery or local ablation should be considered for oligometastatic pulmonary disease.
