Treatment of Recurrent or Metastatic Cervical Cancer in Chemo-Naïve, Medically Fit Patients

This protocol applies to patients with recurrent or metastatic cervical cancer who are medically fit and have not yet received systemic chemotherapy. The evidence-based approach for this specific population is outlined below.

Clinical Scenario

Patients with recurrent or metastatic cervical cancer who remain chemo-naïve and are in good general condition (medically fit) are candidates for first-line systemic therapy. Platinum-based chemotherapy is the recommended treatment backbone for eligible patients in this setting.

Treatment Approach — Partial Overview

The structured regimen for this population is built around a platinum-based chemotherapy backbone. The full protocol further addresses immunotherapy options that may be incorporated into the broader treatment algorithm as clinically indicated.

Complete regimen details, sequencing, and decision criteria are available in the full structured protocol.

References

Platinum-based chemotherapy ± bevacizumab is recommended for chemo-naïve, medically fit patients with recurrent/metastatic disease.

Patients who progressed after first-line platinum-based chemotherapy should be offered treatment with the anti-PD-1 agent, cemiplimab, regardless of PD-L1 tumor status, as long as they have not previously received immunotherapy.
