Bone Metastases in Prostate Cancer Without Castration Resistance
This protocol addresses the specific situation of bone metastases occurring in the context of prostate cancer that has not progressed to castration resistance. Management of bone involvement at this stage is a distinct clinical question with its own evidence base, separate from the castration-resistant setting.
In prostate cancer without castration resistance (early-stage prostate cancer, ESPC), bone-directed treatment is indicated only to prevent or manage cancer treatment-induced bone loss (CTIBL) or pre-existing osteoporosis. Bone treatment beyond these specific indications is not recommended in this population.
