This protocol addresses benign liver tumors occurring specifically in the context of focal nodular hyperplasia (FNH) — the second most frequent benign tumour of the liver.
Treatment is pursued only in exceptional circumstances. When intervention is indicated, a surgical approach represents the treatment of choice — though not all patients are candidates for it.
The full protocol specifies which presentations warrant intervention, the criteria that guide the choice between surgical and non-surgical options, and the complete clinical algorithm.

FNH accounts for the second most frequent benign tumour of the liver.
Treatment is only pursued in exceptional cases (e.g., pedunculated, expanding, exophytic) and resection is the treatment of choice.
Non-surgical treatments should be reserved for those unfit for resection.
