This protocol covers Behçet's syndrome in patients presenting with papulopustular or acne-like mucocutaneous lesions — a recognised skin manifestation that spans a spectrum from mild localised eruptions to severe, chronic recurrent forms.
Papulopustular and acne-like lesions are a characteristic mucocutaneous feature of Behçet's syndrome. Their clinical behaviour and severity determine the treatment approach, with some cases following a persistent or particularly severe course.
For milder forms, topical measures — analogous to those used in acne vulgaris — are the starting point. When lesions become chronic, recurrent, or severe, systemic treatment options come into play.

Papulopustular or acne-like lesions are treated with topical or systemic measures as used in acne vulgaris.
However, chronic recurrent lesions or severe forms mimicking acne conglobata or acne cystica require systemic measures such as retinoids, sometimes together with surgical and physical therapy.
