The majority of uterine leiomyomas are asymptomatic and will not require therapy.
Treatment is generally not required for asymptomatic fibroids.
Patients with asymptomatic fibroids should be reassured that there is no evidence that hysterectomy is indicated for prevention of malignancy.
Hysterectomy is not however, indicated in asymptomatic patients.
