This protocol covers anterior uveitis cases where steroid-sparing treatment is indicated — principally in corticosteroid-resistant presentations or where ongoing corticosteroid use is not appropriate. Because of the systemic nature of the agents involved, management is undertaken in conjunction with an internist.
The approach involves the use of an immunosuppressive agent as steroid-sparing therapy, initiated with internist co-management.
